The AO Audit Lab

The AO Audit Lab is a small 3D walk-through of what the free AO Audit scan checks on a website. The stops:

1. Can a machine read your page?: The scan opens your homepage the way a crawler does. If your words only appear after JavaScript runs, or a noindex tag tells search engines to skip the page, AI tools may never see what you wrote.
2. Are AI tools allowed in?: Your robots.txt file is the door. The scan checks whether it blocks the readers behind ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Meta AI, Apple Intelligence and others, and whether Google's and Microsoft's AI kill switches are off.
3. Do machines know who you are?: Schema is a small block of code that labels your business for machines: your name, what you do, where you are, your answers. The scan looks for it.
4. Is your page built to answer questions?: AI tools quote pages that answer the question a customer asked. The scan checks your title, headline, question-style headings, dates and whether your prices are on the page.
5. Can they check you are real?: Machines trust a business they can connect to other places: your social profiles, review sites, a phone number or email they can read.
6. Can an AI agent finish the job?: More AI tools now try to take the next step for a customer. The scan checks for a clear path to book or buy, plus the small files some AI tools look for.
